The New Colt Python Officially Unveiled

On new Python there is no cylinder stop left hand side of frame. Old Colts, all Smiths, DWs, Ruger Redhawks have this cylinder stop.

.

Simply means that they have fixed the cylinder to the crane and the cylinder no longer relies on the ratchet and ratchet spring to hold the cylinder to the crane. On the old Pythons, as soon as the ejector rod pushes the ratchet out, the cylinder becomes free floating so they needed a stop to keep the cylinder in place. Chances are they've come up with a better solution than relying on the ratchet and the spring.

Damn! I can’t help but want to buy one more than ever now after seeing Hickok rave about it. He’s openly said numerous times how he’s a S&W guy and never really got into colts.

I am happy i bought the 6 inch after buying a 4.25.

Anaconda 4.25 will be a no brainer also.
Even if our country is run by idiots, we are living a nice period for all those Colt and other great makes coming out, Febrility.

Anaconda in 4.25” bbl would be nice. Colt would be foolish to not keep the ball rolling with more snake guns. King Cobra, Python....Anaconda, Diamond Back, Boa. How about a Canadian Massassauga edition?

Myself I refer to one revolver, yet you feel compelled to refer to something else.

There certainly an issue here, but it's not worrysome, new stuff need adjustments.
It wont make me cancel my presales.
This was a tentative as a joke.:)

I believe the S&W 'L' frame and Ruger GP100 had their share of initial teething problems also.

One or two bad reviews aren't enough to put me off a gun, although I rarely buy any newly introduced product as a rule.

Well that went from "Best Thing Ever" to S**T Show in less then two weeks,,,,,

So over 5000 serial # for the recessed barrel/crown issue and the miss fire revolver issue......Colt is working on it....? Yeeeeeee!

Smart money is on waiting until 2021 until Colt sorts this S**T Out.....?

Sooo F**King Sad, this looked like a great Revolver, so much want.....BUT......Too many issues, just a few weeks after release. Looks like Colt rushed this to market for Shot Show. I believe Colt will sort this out and eventually get it right, but early buyers beware. Later Pythons should be great, but these early releases (low serials) will be be tainted for ever...Like the early serial Anacondas are still still a no go for collectors and people in the know......NO WAY! Stay Away......Kind of thing.

Edited too add: Conspiracy theory is that Colt knew of these problems before release.....Reason for the "limited" Gunsite promo day and canned reviews i.e the Hackathorn paid promo with other obscure youtube reviewers and ZERO real reviews and no T&E offerings, until after launch.......??? Very disturbing. Getting your early model 2020 Python "Fixed" will be a pain in the ass, especially in Canada...Not worth it until Colt sorts themselves out, unless you have FU money, in that case buy at your own risk and enjoy your mystery Python, kind of like playing the lotto......only much more expensive. Good Luck to the pre order folks....they will need all the luck thay can get....!
