Happy New Year 2020! Norinco 1897 Trench gun Back in Stock! Only 299

Do the screws need loctite?

Any 1979 experts out there who can tell us what to watch out for on these shotguns.

It sure is a ###y gun.

I think some of them do for sure. I just don't know which ones to tighten and which ones to keep loose lol.

I'm assuming (sorry as I am not trying to be a jerk) that you know how to use the slide release button (right side of the receiver)...do you? If it doesn't help, than yes. There is a problem. Cheers.

Fair enough. Probably a screw getting loose on the bolt and locking it inside the receiver. I specifically asked the guys at the store to function check and inspect mine before sending it my way. Best of luck.

I check again 2 what i have now and yes one is made from wood. Second hard to understand. Maybe i should apologize for wrong information about the stock.

With the increase in shipping costs over the last few years, basic inspections before shipping should be standard practice these days..... nice to hear they accommodated you!

No need to apologize. I was just sincerely curious as to different variations within one batch of shotguns. I believe they were made last year as that's what indicates the factory inspection sheet. Can't read Mandarin, so the date is the only thing that I can tell. Wood on mine looks like Chinese catalpa. Which is a good news, because while very difficult to work with (I have some actual experience) it's highly resistant to mold or rotting. It's however soft, so it should be sealed properly.

My stock looks like MDF or particle board
Add glue to sawdust then pour into a mold
Or they had a block of MDF then shaped it like you would a regular stock
Just don't get it wet

When you take off the butt plate the debris from the screws spalls out then you can see the texture of the end and down the stock bolt channel
the weight and finish of the stock felt funny to me
