My current sporter barrel on my CZ 455 can shoot sub moa at 50 4 of 5 times on the my 22 can shoot sub moa all day challenge.

Now what would getting a CZ factory bull barrel get me...will it be more accurate, at 50, 100 or longer

I know I could get an IBI or Other aftermarket brand to improve accuracy but the darn things are more $ then what I paid for my CZ.

Thanks

There are no guarantees with a factory barrel . I've seen light barrels shoot incredible and heavy ones only shoot so so . The theory is that a heavy barrel will be more "tolerant" of a wider selection of ammo , but , a factory barrel is what it is . You might get lucky and get a real shooter , but , only a match grade heavy barrel will increase your odds of a significant improvement in accuracy .

If you are getting sub 1/2" groups four out of five times at 50 yards then I don't think a heavier barrel would improve on this. An aftermarket barrel would likely show some improvement however it may be marginal.

This is good advice.

I agree with the previous ^^^ up there also, I would also say keep the barrel, I had a CZ 455 Canadian that would shoot pretty damn close to the 1/2" challenge.. should have kept it!

Sounds like you have a decent factory barrel already, have you tried pillars/bedding the action? That would be a cheaper way to gain accuracy. When I was using a wood stock it seemed to like 25 inch pounds of torque on the action bolts, I didn’t want to go any higher than that with a wood stock. I bought a chassis off of a member here and increased the torque on my action bolts to 35 inch pounds and it made a significant improvement.

There are a ton of DIY tutorials on YouTube on pillars/bedding an action and there are chassis that pop up on here used pretty often.
