Not the typical metallic reloading question but.... anyone tried reloading TSS for shotgun on here? Id like to try some but having a tough time finding anyone besides Will Bolizir to get me any. Any suggestions?!?

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks in advance.

The idea sounds interesting where non toxic shot is required, or for small gauge guns, but the cost keeps me from trying it for general hunting. And if Bilozir was the only source , that would keep me from ever considering it.

Hey Stubblejumper,

Exactly, the price is what keeps me from jumping in with both feet. Im set up for loading 12g but my son who will be able to hunt the 2021 season is a small guy and I'm thinking id like to get him a 410 or 28g to start breaking clays and eventually use it for hunting. From my research TSS in 7's with a 410 will knock birds dead out of the air with at reasonable distances.
Sounds like I'm not the only one with an "interesting" experience with Bilozir! There are plenty of guys in the US who sell but seems like next to no options for us north of the border.
thanks for the input!

What sizes is it available in? Tungsten shot is very interesting...

Hello B.

From my research it comes in pretty much all sizes if your willing to get from Europe or US. Im mostly interested in 7 and 9 for waterfowl and 2,BB or maybe T for coyotes.
Apex ammunition makes factory ammo and they are/have developed a T load for coyotes and tests show pretty impressive results. Better than HeviShot Dead Coyote in T which I currently am using with my own 4 buck loads.
hoping to find someone in Canada to cut down on shipping.

3macs1,
Yes X Reload dabbles in BP products but if its not on their website then they are not interested in special ordering. At least thats what I was told in the past by them.

You don't need it for coyotes stick to your 4 buck lead until they say you can't
Waste of money

T would be the smallest size I would be looking at. Cost isn't relevant for me, plenty of money to burn as long as the performance increase is significant.

If I could get 4 buck to pattern better I’d be happier and your right probably don’t need to spend the extra money.
I’m going to try some of Wade Rush’s recipes for buckshot and hoping for better results but what I’m finding is the lead I have is really deforming and I’ve tried all sorts of choke tubes from xfull to modified. TSS patters well because there is no deformation and because it’s so dense it carries a lot of knock down energy. I find my HeviShot Dead Coyote in T shot packs way more of a punch than my 4 buck.

I know I am right. I reload all sizes of buckshot and 4 buck by far is the one for coyotes and gives me great patterns in browning shotguns with a IM or lead full briley choke
The book I use came from BP I think and is all buckshot loads
I don't know how more impressive one needs. Cutting them just about in half is more than enough IMO and Dead is dead

It's quite presumptuous to say that since you do fine with your one shotgun that anyone is incorrect in wanting or needing something else.

I hoped I won't be considered presumptuous if I offered some non internet based actual hands on advice. That is my word for today presumptuous :)

You will do fine with one shotgun and no. 4 buck LEAD if you shoot enough paper with different chokes and get the best combo for you
Lets see I reload or have in lead over the years no. 2 ,B ,BB ,#4, #1, 0, 00 and 000 for coyotes in 12ga 3 and 3 1/2 and 10ga. Also reload steel, bismuth and tungsten ( not TSS)
From what I seen in 10 and 12ga LEAD 4 buck by far is the best bang for the buck and does very well as far as pattern goes and reaches out there to kill coyotes dead. Too dead sometimes the way it rips them apart

Yes I have a ton of different choke tubes to try oh and yes did I say I own one shotgun sorry I own after the herd clean up still 86 shotguns so more than likely have his covered or close to it

Never said anything about anyone being incorrect I said as long as lead is allowed you are wasting your money killing coyotes with non tox shot
IMO Tss shot is for when you can no longer use lead like migratory bird hunting not banging coyotes .But hey we all have one
I was just trying to save the OP some money nothing more

8 pounds of Tss $234.00 , 8 pounds Lead 4 buck $59.00

Dead is Dead and no coyote is worth that cost of TSS ammo
If you got money to burn/waste fill your boots but don't expect to see more dead coyotes since LEAD kills
To each their own
Cheers
