Is there any reason i couldnt use my dewey 30cal cleaning rod with the right adapter to clean a 12 gauge?

Also anyone use Edds Red on their shotgun?

Any tips on cleaning a Beretta over/under? Im new to them

Thanks

Outside of a quick wipe down with CLP I always take the barrels off my O/U , easier too clean the breach face , locking lug and pivot points. 12 gauge jag on regular cleaning rod cut up T shirts for patches

Ed's Red is great for removing wad fouling, I used a standard 3 piece rod cleaning kit, with 2 bore mops(one for solvent, one for ATF), bronze & tornado brushes. A tub of your favorite grease for trunions and a small brush to apply it and good to go. Be aware Ed's Red is a nasty product, so be careful with it.

The main issue with shotgun bores is not lead / steel shot steel leaves no residue powder fowling is minimal especially in field shooting not enough build up of those components. Plastic on the other hand is the main culprit. Especially in chokes

So lead shot doesnt leave residue like lead bullets do? I wont be using steel shot in this shotgun.
