Has anyone put Armaspec's Ar-10 SRS in their factory Stag 10?
From what I understand, factory Stag 10 has carbine length tube with a H buffer (3.8oz) in it?

I would like mine to have less spring "twang" but the AR10 SRS by Armaspec has 5.8oz buffer weight. Will it not be too heavy for the bolt to cycle perhaps?

I would love to pick everyone's brain on this! Thanks!!

I never bought a factory Stag 10 I assembled my own, but I did however buy both standard .308 Buffer and spring and the Armaspec AR-10 SRS. I ran both and the SRS stayed in the rifle and the standard spring and buffer are in my spares

I operates the same as far as ejection and function, just a little smoother with less spring twang

I remember seeing a post somewhere by Arms East saying that the gas journal on the factory barrel is small. So by seeing that, will the heavier buffer make it not cycle properly?

I can not comment on that exact setup as I do not have a Stag or Arms East purchased barrel. I am using a Maple Ridge Armory 18.5" barrel with a .960 gas port hole size, and I am using an adjustable gas block also. So I have set the amount of gas using the adjustable gas block the first day I shot the rifle after assembly, and have since shot both .308 and 7.62x51 without one stoppage, shooting about 500 rounds of both ammuntions so far

Also I have a Lantac BCG, so I am not sure how the compares in weight to your BCG

All I can say for sure is that in my Stag 10 with my combination of components, the SRS works well and I prefer to use it over a standard Buffer and spring setup

If you were local Id just let you try it out, pop it into your rifle and see if it works. But Im on the other side of Canada

To be honest, I'm planning on changing the barrel to IBI as well an adjustable gas block in the future. So it just might be best to wait till then...?

Honestly I think it will work, because its designed to replace regular .308 spring and buffer and they don't make different weights so its kinds one size fits all .308

However if you plan on adding an adjustable gas block, then I don't think there would any problems that couldn't be adjusted out with the gas adjustment

Hopefully someone else can chime in with different setup, I know others on here are using the SRS in their STAG 10 builds

That was talking about the Bushmaster ACR barrel, not the STAG-10 barrel. That said, the length of the .75" diameter section the gas block attaches to doesn't relate to cycling in any way.

The STAG-10 carbine buffer is not the same as a AR15 H Buffer. It is shorter than an AR15 buffer.

I have one...probably close to 400 rounds with it in and *touch wood* no issues, ammo has mostly been Magtech M80 ball and Barnaul 145gr...neither exactly high quality/high pressure ammo.

I have it in a Magpul UBR gen 2, with Magpul's provided spacer in the tube.

A cool thing with it is you don't need to use the buffer retainer pin/spring with it because it is a complete, self contained unit not under constant pressure, although I have yet to remove my pin/spring on mine yet.

To add - stock gas system!!!

If you're not set on the armaspec setup, I'm rocking a 5.7 oz carbine buffer and strike flatwire carbine spring. Way cheaper than armaspec, no discernible twang, and runs nice and smooth with my rifle length gas and 20" barrel
