Where to find, or borrow, a go / no go gauge for 7x57? and PTG rant thread

htt p://pacifictoolandgauge.com/

I buy all my reamers through them.

Also jerry (Mystic Precision) can order you go/no go gauges. I just got a set from hin last month..good prices and awesome guy to deal with

PTG = Pacific Tool & Gauge. I bought various GO gauges from Brownell's - various makers offered. I bought a cheap feeler gauge set and cut circles to match the gauge head to use as NOGO and FIELD, if necessary. Slightest dab of grease on gauge head serves to hold the shim in place.

Is PTG back to making good reamers? For quite awhile they had quality problems... I gave up on them and recommend Manson.

For gauges = Brownell's, Clymer, Forester, Manson...

Only reamer problem that I have ever had was with Manson... PTG has been great for me for many years, but I have only ordered a couple dozen reamers from them... service has always been excellent.

Nope not at all. Shipping is 40 usd for a reamer though so gauges probably the same pretty expencive

And i like jerry he has been very nice to me over the last few years ( payment plan on large order, answered probably 100 questions about my fclass build) i think i paid maybe 30$ canadian per gauge they are Forster brand

Well, I am impatient. I am taking a risk, as I just ordered through PTG... Hoyt is about as anal as I, so I am sure it will be fine. BTW, $156 for two gauges shipped isn't cheap ! LoL

Ive only have had good dealings with PTG ( 6 dealings over the last 3 years). And ill be ordering a custom 40cal reamer from there soon. I wouldnt worry.

You will pay taxes on it when it crosses the border.

Haha we do its called " reamer exchange thread" it includes wrenches and gauges
