Hi Folks,

Does anyone know if there is a commercial caster of the #429421 .44 cal SWC bullets in Canada? These are the "Keith style" bullets.

Thanks, Jeff/1911.

Not far from where you are. Wetaskiwan. I’ve gotten some of the same bullets you are after and work very well. I had Terry send them with no lube as I’m powder coating them and also using them for blackpowder and lubing myself.

There's a guy I deal with in the Duncan area. Good quality, great variety and decent prices. Goes by Win Shooter on site. Oh, and by the way, the Lyman 429421 is my favorite cast bullet for the 44 Mag. As/my avatar,:d:d I met Keith in the early to mid 70's.

Hi Johnn,

So you met Elmer Keith?!?

Wow. :)

Jeff.

Definitely the experience I call the highlight of my years of hunting and shooting. When I first got into handguns and reloading for them, I sent him a couple of letters, looking for info. He was 'getting on' so in the early 70's I made arrangements to pay him a visit at his home in Salmon Idaho. Spent the better part of a day visiting and my avatar is a photo I took of him, posing by my truck just before I headed back for home. I was fortunate enough to see him once more, I believe in 1975 at a gun show in Kalispell Montana where he was the guest of honour at supper that evening.
Oh, still have his letters of reply to my questions.

Hi Johnn,

Now that you mention it, I remember you telling me that story when we had a deal sometime ago. That’s a wonderful account, it must’ve been a great experience. :)

Jeff.

Thanks

:) Rings a bell. My Daughter and Son In Law are probably not far from you. Sherwood Park. I've been out that way a few times for visits and to go on a couple of successful Mule Deer hunts and an Antelope hunt on draw with them.
And, yes, Elmer was ;) a colourful character, as well as experienced and knowledgeable.
