After 3 years of making jokes on you magnum guys I'm getting one myself, but hey at least it's a semi-auto. :p :D
Benelli R1, in Synth Walnut.

I hope to pick it up on Monday, and I hope the semi eats up enough recoil to keep me from developing a flinch by late afternoon. :D

All's I got to say, is: About time!

Magnums rule man, and the .300WM is such a better gun than everything else out there:D

No wonder I've had mine since the early eighties!!!

Congrats!

The .300 Win Mag is a cool ctg. Have a Browning A-bolt in it. Loves 180 gr bullets behind 70 grains of IMR 4350....

A 300 sks magnum???....never heard of one before.........:D

300 magnum is a good alternative to hunters wanting more recoil and more expensive shells than 308 & 30-06

I can reload my 300WM to 30-30, 30.06, 308 winchester, 303 British and probably a few more. Thus making it a very versatile caliber.

I hunt varmints with a 110gr SP with 55gr of IMR4350. Nice smooth recoil and very tight groups at 100yds.

With a Limbsaver recoil pad and a 24X scope, I can knock down pretty well any forest creature I may come across. And 300WM reloads don't cost anywhere near the price of a box of 308 factory loads.

The one drawback to owning a 300WM is if you don't reload, then yes, factory ammo will keep you broke!

Sweet, glad to hear this cartridge is so versatile, as I have plenty of extra bullets in the calibers you list, and I'm no stranger to the reloading press. :)

1000 yd. gun needs a 1000 yd. scope.

I believe the scope this one is coming with is 6x18x50.
But If I had more money I'd get a Shepard scope. :)

i've found that when you get above 12x your fov gets too narrow and you shake too much anyway- hence , all mine are 4x12 or 3x9

You should really enjoy your 300; and way to go with a semi! One day I'll be able to swap my Model 70 in 338 win mag to a Bar in 338 and I'll pretty much be into the semi's straight across the board. Well, except for those damn Lee Enfields...

6x18x50 ......... so much for versatility.
.

Yah know, I do own a few other scopes for closer work. :p

If need be I could even put a red dot I have on it for brush work...I'm pretty sure 300 win mag flies pretty flat out to 100 yards. :p

A Bar in 338 would be sweet. :)

I'll post pics when I get it.

All I can say is that it takes a man with a massive ##### to shoot a magnum, knowing all the while that it makes him look like he's compensating for something, hehe.

And, I think it also says something about those who brag about how much they can get done with a teeny-tiny little cartridge :p

Calum i had a BAR in 300wm and 338wm . With a good recoil pad they were good to shoot.

I havent shot a Benneli auto rifle but i do have a 12 gauge Benelli super sport and i put 100 rounds through it shooting clays with no discomfort.

It should be a sweet shooter.
