Really old shotgun ammo

No problem in that department . Do yourself a favour and bury them for fertilizer before you hurt yourself.

Share what you know not the fact you have zero experience with shooting vintage shotgun ammo
Maybe he should hand them into police :( so then the world will be safer
Lots of us here with paper hulls still in the stash and shoot them just fine
Cheers

My apologies didnot mean to insult you
Well if you grew up with this stuff you should know we shot a hell of a lot worse and it was just fine
Your comments sure didnot sound like you grew up with it and maybe now collecting it has you just a bit too fussy now
I still have a fair amount NIB vintage paper also and a good stash of reloading components for paper that I use time to time still
All the best to you also

Nice to see the old components I have the same stuff along with some ljutic mono wads and Alcan in all gauges . I remember when they came out with plastic shells and wads I thought this stuff will never catch on boy was I wrong.. Shot shell loading is getting to be a lost art.

Just a thought...………….iff'in you shoot them off and one or so don't sound right, heavens murphy,
have a looky see down the bawrill to make sure a wad wuzz'int left behind.

Yes sir remember them also. In fact started reloading imperial and remington paper as a young boy I want to say around 1964 . My dad was a big time trap shooter and reloader
Stashed a ton of paper hulls only to find out I cannot get the old powders and primers any more to reload them
I think I am at my last box of remington no.57 primers you will remember those :)
Almost all of my paper hulls are gone for decorations on xmas wreaths of all things but better than tossing them
I agree fewer and fewer reloading shotgun even the plastic hulls.
Me I still have it real bad and do every gauge from 410 to 10ga as you can see LOL
Once again I apologize for earlier but it is rare today to find someone like us :)
Take care

Good advice Looky. I always carry one of the wad weights when using old stuff just in case and never in a semi
Cheers

Here are some pictures. A lot more headstamps than I originally thought.

Well all I can say is if a few of them turn your crank then you can hang onto some of them for display purposes . I like the looks of the one that has UMC on the bottom . the primer looks really old . and another one looks either French or Spanish . I have an old rule when it comes to ammo and some other things in life . if I think it looks okay I'll use it and if it doesn't and it's questionable I'll ditch it . and I know that you'd do the same thing .
