Would love to keep the relic but with whats possibly coming down the pipe I'm at odd's. I've been eyeing a Chiappa mare's leg in 44mag thats $900, safe bet that will stay unrestricted, and is practical for me in my neck of the woods.
With it being a Tula SKS with matching serials and in rather decent shape it's got some resale value with room for profit to me seeing as i paid $175 for it in 2011. I figure spare myself the risk all together and sell it. Looking online I am seeing that the Tula rifles with matching #'s in good shape are worth around $600.. rifle alone. I have half a case of corrosive, new brass, hornady reloads, powder, lee die set and a tapco mag. What would a reasonable asking price be?
So what is the real likelihood of the SKS becoming restricted or prohibited? I hold a restricted, but a restricted SKS is just f***ing stupid and not worth the hassle one bit to me. Because if it gets banned while I own it I'd sooner shove it in the floorboards covered with cosmoline and forget about it than hand it over.
Sell it and put the money towards the Chiappa or hold onto it for now and see what happens?
