I've done a lot of reading on this rifle and it's what I have been looking for for years. I love to do precision shooting out in the boonies, and I love to have a tactical style hunting rifle. I love small lightweight precision rifles! This thing really hits the sweet spot for me. It weighs 6.2-6.8lbs depending upon what model you get, and folds down to 25" for the 277 and 308 version (16" barrel) and 27" for 6.5 creedmoor (18" barrel).

I'm hoping Sig will do a run of 18" barrels in 308 for the Canadian market to make oal legal when folded (yes I'm one of those 308 guys).

What are your thoughts on it?

Is there nothing else that matches its features and specs?

You mention a foldable chassis 308, the RPR has that, but perhaps much heavier?

Is building a rifle like that and putting it in an foldable MDT chassis not comparable? Too many steps, too expensive, not comparable?

All are much heavier, likely because the receiver and chassis add more weight as opposed to having the receiver/chassis as one.

The RPR is at least 9lbs and the cross is 6.5lbs
 
with scope, sling and loaded 5 round mag my rpr comes in at a little over 14lbs. may be able to get something lighter using the mdt lss chassis with short barrel (maybe the new rem model 7 with short barrel). I'm going to wait and see what the canadian price is for the Cross.

It will be 2-2.5k I bet.
 
I'd take one in 308, as soon as they are available in Canada and non-restricted. If that ever happens. Let's hope so.
 
MSRP on the Sign Cross is about ~$1800 USD.

Between exchange rate and importation fees, it will probably retail in Canada for around ~$2500 if I was to take a guess.

I was thinking when it first was release that that would be an issue for people who don't want to have a round in the chamber when hunting (I am one of those people). Although, you could just keep it open if that was an issue. Either way removing it likely brought costs down.

On the interviews on youtube at shotshow they quoted 1499msrp which hopefully will translate to around 2g or less here.

They also said they will make hybrid cases for the 308 and 6.5 CM. If that's the case (ha.)then it will be my next rifle!

Edit: ah crap nevermind, that's only for the military... The only one available for commercial use will be the .277 fury.

One of these could very likely be on my wish list if it’s all it’s cracked up to be. At that weight I don’t believe there’s much for options in this type of factory rig. I’ve got a tikka in mdt chassis that is fairly light, but it’s no 6.5 lbs bare rifle.

If it works out well for them I would imagine others could follow suite shortly...
