I miss Century... anyone else?

I remember them well. Bought a Long Branch #4 with select grade for $125. in late 1980's . I visited there wear house for a day
picking out many guns for prizes in a Bowling Pin Shoot I ran at Peel Handgun Club. They gave me wholesale price on those guns
as their donation to the shooting Match , which lasted 2 days with 125 shooters. Yes they had lots of guns in their wearhouse & a big
walkin safe for handguns. Bought some of those too . Sorry it is gone now.

I wished I could have seen it in person as well !!

I remember they had the French FAMAS rifle with extra mags and I think bayonet. I wonder how many they sold. I’ve never heard of anyone with one. Hello

I used to drool over the catalogue but I was paying off a house in Vancouver at the time and didn't really need anything anyway.

I did build a Mosin scout rifle out of parts from there though, a barreled action, and a carbine stock.

I've lost interest in all that crap now anyway, so bygones are bygones.

Got rid of my Mosins, I have one 1896 Swede left, plus I'm baby-sitting another for a friend who moved as well as a US model of 1917 Enfield I take out and pet once in a while. But I won't feel any sense of loss when the owner takes them back.

There was a guy in Edmonton who had his FAMAS confiscated under C68 IIRC....went to court and everything.

The amount they sold is a good question. They were NR at the time

why were they driven out?

They weren't, they packed up in protest the new gun laws introduced that the Conservative government (with Kim Campbell justice minister) introduced. They saw it as too much of a hassle to do business.
