Are WK180Cs still unreliable?

Haven't seen much discussion on these recently, aside from the drama between Kodiak/Wolverine/Sylva. Is it because they've become reliable enough, after updates and repairs, that you can shoot them without complaints? Or is it because they've all fallen apart so many times nobody can be bothered to shoot them anymore? Bought one at a discount a few months ago, but I can't shoot it anywhere until my training in on the other side of the country is done and I can go back home. Just curious what everyones experiences have been with the newer batches (or early ones with warranty work done) of the WK.

Mine was a nightmare. Gas block wasn't pinned and had to go back to the factory when in turned into a single shot. Had failure to eject issues that were resolved with the o-ring fix. When the bolt face cracked off a lug, I called it quits. Got it repaired and it worked, but by this time I had lost total confidence in the product. Once I knew it was working and problem free, I sold it. Hate to say this because I'm not a fan of Kel Tec but I would buy an SU-16, cheap plastic rifle, over this thing any day of the week. I created a thread that listed all the problems people had with these things during the startup and got accused of being a negative nancy. Apparently some people didn't like consumers being informed about the products they were purchasing. It was somehow un-Canadian to cast dispersion's on this new product. It's heavier than an AR15, not as accurate, ugly as sin, blocky, front heavy, sharp and flawed. The only thing good about this product was the customer service. Owen was the best. There are lots of them on the EE pages.....must be a reason that people are dumping them still. Bottom line....Get a Ruger american scout in 556 which takes AR15 mags and you will be far happier. At least the ruger will be running when the WK develops another issue and bogs down, plus I can use all the AR15 mags I had for the WK. Just one guy's opinion.

Very good rifles, inexpensive and reliable, both of mines have may K's of ammo tru them ( used by my twin grandboys ) they came with the treaded bolt and both were exchanged for another treaded bolt.

I am unaware of any issues since the exchange.

I had 2, they went through several 2 gun matches, a coyote hunt in freezing rain/slush, and about 1.5k round between 2 of them.

I had some hiccups at the start, but rifles has been reliable once I loktite everything down. Both of mine are below 400 serial and had magnetic charging handle. The upper is beat up by the charging handle, but the beauty of ar180 design is you don't need the upper for the gun to work as long as the 2 bcg guide rails are in place.

As added bonus, the one with MRA barrel shoots federal AE 55gr bulk ammo into 1.5 moa group consistently. For the price you cannot beat wk180c.

I bought mine on the first pre-order, it still has the magnetic charging handle. No problems so far!

Same here, surprisingly accurate I found. Hoping to find a moa load this summer now that I know it has potential.

Someone mention an su16? lol no. Never. I owned one of those, the mini14 and the 180c is 1000x more gun.

Shot a hundred rounds thru a 180 yesterday, was rock solid. Not as nice as my buddy's XCR, but was hitting a round duelling tree disc at a 100 yards using flip up irons.

Nothing wrong with these rifles at all.

They're great rifles.

I put 1000 rounds through mine, with American Eagle Bulk ammo it gets 1.5 - 2 MOA

The only issue I had was that the cocking handle broke off, Kodiak were very quick to apologise and are replacing it. The rifle still functions perfectly well I just use a screwdriver to #### the weapon to release the bolt between magazines.

I will be buying a second

I had one of the low serial numbers, put 500 Rds through it before my eye caught something else and I sold it.

It never hiccupped once.
