might be a dumb question,, is it possible to use a 3006 crimp die to crimp 8mm mauser? they are already reloaded just need to be crimped
thanks Romar

I've never tried it but I would think the length would be different so it wouldn't crimp where you wanted it too. As well I don't think the 8mm neck would crimp well in a die meant to hold a 7.62 diameter projectile.

Just my thoughts. I could be wrong though.

I modified a 300WSM crimp die to crimp 325WSM

took a bit of setup in the lathe and its not a reversible modification.

anything is possible

in you case I think it might be easier to find a 8mm Mauser die

Unless you are shooting a heavy bullet in a semi-auto (or a light bullet with ball powder) there is no need to crimp. I have never crimped a 8mm round.

Why do you want to crimp?

Did you check if your seating die has a built in crimp? Not every brand does, but several do. A roll crimp will need a cannelure, otherwise Lee Factory crimp die is the only suitable option. No crimp is probably fine however.
