Hey all!

I am looking to buy an AR15 ASAP incase of a ban. Can't find any good ones in stock...any recommendations?

Something like a Colt would be ideal, because I want it to last a lifetime incase this is the last AR I ever buy...

Thanks!

Calgary shooting center have a couple of KAC SR15 and SR25.... I recommend those 100%.

Also they show Colt and Daniel Defense.

Very tempting. Thats quality stuff right there. Im looking to spend more around 2000 or so. :(

I hear ya, the HK was sold out :(, the Colt is "in stock" at a lower price. I work on alot of Colt guns and you can't go wrong. The HK is my first choice though, maybe check the EE and beat the tax?
Good Luck,

Thinking the same thing.. Stripped lower is the only “restricted part”.

Practically, how big of a concern is it that you need a proprietary tool to remove the barrel on the MRRs? Should this be a consideration when making purchasing decision? I have had a hard time deciding between a M4V7S and the MRR11.6.

Norinco CQA M4 14.5 (comes with Sling and two mags) $630

Smith and Wesson M&P15 2 - $750, 2-2.5moa with Bulk 55gr American Eagle (40c per round)

Radical Arms RF-15 $800

Sig Sauer M400 Tread $1100

Mossberg MMR Red Dot Combo $1300

I can only attest to the accuracy of the M&P15 on account of owning one and having an Elcan OSX4 on it. It reaches out to 500m no dramas.

Ulitimately your concern here is you won't have an AR15 before a ban takes place. With that being true you need to consider:

- What part of your AR15 you cannot upgrade? You can buy any one of the above and then replace the trigger, barrel, buttstock, handguards, pistol grip etc etc etc. the key part is getting the rifle in the first place.

- You want high end but do you actually know who high end is? Seriously, that's not a dig at you but a simple question, would you honestly know if you were paying for a brand name and getting the same rifle as Brand X which is half the price but with a different name laser etched on the side? A very large number of AR parts are made from a small number of manufacturers.

- Again you want high end but what is the point of diminishing returns here? It's an AR, you can pay $750 and get a 2 - 2.5moa rifle with the cheapest bulk ammo there is that perhaps does better with better ammo. What are you planning on doing that needs it to be better than that? Given an upcoming ban might it not be better to have two AR15s rather than one?

Has Radical changed/improved their stuff?. I have heard so many mixed reviews.

I had a radical show up today in the mail. a quick look over it looks pretty good. lots of online reviews are ~2 years old so I'm hoping they have ironed out their issues.

I wanted an AR in the safe but didn't want to drop $2000 on something likely gone soon.

we'll see when I can get it out to the range.
