Hey all,

I am trying to get my first glock and got this offer, not sure if its good. Wondering if you can give me your opinions.

The offer is:
-
A G22 40 cal for 750$ CAD shipped with night sightrs and 5 mags.
This pistol is approx 2 years old.

-
Now since this is my first pistol I'm not sure if this is a good deal. I was looking around online, and found the prices ranging anywhere from $690 - $750CAD for a brand new glock.

Questar has them on for $650 brand new......

Nice gun to shoot no matter.

Mags are $30 I think...........

Add up all the shipping vs. taxes etc.

Is it a local buy?

Things to think about.

Good luck.

Mike

I don't think it's the deal of the century, but it's not a rip off. I'd say he's still a little high, since Questar has been offering them for $650 for a new one. I'd offer him $650-700 and don't look back. My general rule of thumb is 15-20% off of retail without the taxes in for a 2 years old used gun. Of course there are exceptions, such as availability, if it's unfired condition (NIB), how rare it is and how badly you want the gun. For a Glock 22, I feel that there is always a surplus of them floating around in the EE, so if it was me, I'd offer him somewhere between what I've stated above. If he says yes, great, if not, I'd wait for another one to show up on the EE.

$750 is a tad high.

At that age he's probably got anywhere from a grand to 1100 in it .
He's probably already thinking he's taking a bath .
realistically we don't know where he is located and where you are located so we have no idea what it's costing him on freight so its kinda hard for me to say good or bad .
What I do know is if I buy that new I'm looking at approx :
Pistol = 639.00
3 mags = 90.00
aprox freight = 25.00
---------
subtotal= 754.00
---------
6%gst = 45.24
7%pst(bc)= 52.78
---------
total ( for me ) 852.02

So is spending $102.02 better for a new gun or is saving $102.02 off the new price worthy of consideration ?
Only you will know your answer .

Thanks for the replies.

I am located in Ontario and he's located in Alberta.

Also where did you find the $639.00 for this pistol?
I went on questar and noticed that the 22 with night sights is $769.. brand new..

Thats what i was thinking, since our dollar is so close to the US the prices should be way cheaper for brand new.

Exactly, if this is the option you want then its a fine deal. If not then do the math as stated above for a plain glock.

Yeah i blew that deal off and also decided i should get a glock 19 as a start out gun. Looks like a glock with barrel at questar will cost me a bit over $1000. Seems quite expensive
