I just bought my first CZ, the 455 canadian edition. .22wmr.
Trying to decide on scope and rings. Planning on only using it target shooting. Just cant decide on what scope and what power scope to go with. I know someone here has ideas haha. Share some pictures if you got them. Love to see what people have set up.

Welcome to the CZ club. I’ve had a few rifles and handguns. Such a quality manufacturer from my experience. My shadow Canadian edition is an incredible pistol.

I have the 455 Canadian in 22LR and it shoots very well and I like the rifle. You will enjoy your purchase. One thing to note with the 455 is the way the bolt works and it will require quite high rings depending on whether you use a pic rail or not. I put a Sightron STAC 4-20x50 on my CZ and I like it. Having the extra zoom helps to see the holes at longer distances.

I have three; a .17 HMR, a 452 and a 455 trainer. Love them. Won scope class today with the trainer at our local club. Considering the effective range of the .22 mag, something like a 1.5-6X is lots. I have a dovetail to Pic rail adaptor from Amazon that gets me high enough that the rear sight does not interfere with my big target scope. I shoot long distance rimfire with my Trainer.

Sounds like a nice setup. I have been shooting 22 WMR for target shooting for years. One thing to remember in your quest for accurany is there is no match grade ammo made for the 22 WMR , so you just have to find what shoots best . My Savage 93 BRJ likes CCI 40 gn. Maxi Mags. Shoots .875 to 1.25 ins. at 100 yards
For set up try EGW rail '' Mystic Precision, Prophet River''. Scope there is a fine selection of scopes out there Vortex, Antlon , look to see what most are shooting in some of the CRPS, Outlaw series, to give u an idea.
Enjoy

i said this once, 452 varmint was my first, then sane in 17HMR, then repeated with Americans, then a Silhouette, a Luxe, a super lux, then they made 453's,.......lol

First CZ? Welcome to the addiction. It won't be your last. They reproduce in gun lockers at an alarming rate.

So true. We bought a 452 Lux for my wifes first rifle when she got her PAL and within a month I had to have a CZ of my own. Bought a 455 Varmint. Always looking at the gunshows for the next.

I scoped my Varmint with a Hawke varmint 4-16x44 SF sitting in a set of airgun rings that were just the right height although I have no rear sight to contend with.

P.S. sorry for the picture orientation. Can’t seem to correct.

Getting a .22 WMR exclusively for target shooting was a mistake in my opinion. .22LR is much better suited, and has a proven track record for accuracy. .22WMR does not , and is suitable only for game.

Barrels are pretty cheap when they come up for sale on here, you can usually get them for a couple hundred, that’s the beauty of the 455

I have a CZ 455 Full stock, a 457 MTR topped off with a Nicon Black X1000 6-24x50SF ,both in .22 Lr, and a 527 MTR in .226 topped off by a Bushnell Elite Tactical LRS Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 6-24x 50mm Side Focus 1/10 Mil Adjustments First Focal G2DMR Reticle.
Don't go cheap on rings, bases or glass.

If you want to shoot long range, you need to make sure you can get the elevation you'll need.

A 20 MOA base is nowhere near enough for a 22, but there are a variety of adjustable scope mounts to select from.

If you want to run them flat, you can, or you can adjust the rings to almost bottom out your elevation so it will max out your travels and serve as a zero stop as a bonus.

Airgun source also has a few.

BTW there are little insert adapters to convert Pic rail to dovetail on ebay for about 10 bucks.

I have several .22lr. I just came up this 455 and fell in love with it. Just happened to be in 22wmr, and I didnt own a 22wmr, so i figured why not. Got to start to the cz family somewhere eh. Myself and my son enjoy target shooting, that's part of the reason I like the 22's.

If your looking for some great adjustable rings, airgun source is a great spot to find them. The guys there are very helpful and their prices are ok too. I have the FX no limit rings and have never had them move on me even after a thousand rounds. I too just bought my first CZ. Heading out Sunday for my first outing. 457 MTR in 17HMR topped with a Nikon Prostaff P5. I may have the itch like everyone is talking about already as I bought a 455 22LR barrel for it. And so it begins......

I have two CZ 452 Varmit, 22lr. One has a bushnell 10x40 fixed little tactical. The other has a Simmons Predators Quest 6-18.

For target, its nice to have the top magnification for checking targets.

I find 22 wmr rather pricey, spotty for availability, and never goes on sale. Figure out what the rifle.likes.....find some....buy it all. Seriously buy at least by the K. Run out, and next time it will cost more, when/if you find it.
