Cleaning brass without tumbler , possible ??

"cleaning" brass can be done with hot water, dish soap and some Lemi-shine (if you have it). Dump brass into a bucket or other container - swish / shake it around, then rinse with clear water and let dry - it will be "clean" - the water and soap mix will be dirty as can be. Perfectly suitable for reloading at that point, but not "shiny" like new brass. But "clean" is what you want going into your reloading dies and into your chamber - the "shiny", as they say, "is for the eyes only"...

Remove primers, then use the following recipe- for 1 Litre of hot water add 1/4 cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of dishsoap. Let them soak and then dry well. I usually put gloves on for safety and blow out the water with compressed air, then let dry thoroughly.

And, as per an earlier post - I choose to use the Lee case length set-up to check and trim brass to length after sizing - the case is in the holder in the drill, so a quick spin holding a shop cloth clears away the sizing lube and a quick polish with 4-aught (0000) steel wool buffs up the brass and clears away any minor "snags" at the case mouth.

+1 for this

Brasso cream, or Coke. Tried the Coke just for the heck of it. Does work (depending on level of tarnish) just takes a several days to shine up. Rinse in really hot soapy water.

funny but true- a long time back, I put some dish soap, water and brass into a paint can. then put it in a paint mixer shaker machine.LOL
left it in for about 20 minutes.....yup, very clean. didnt shine like being tumbled in media,..but very clean very fast.

Some never dull and a lee chuck for a drill a quick spin and comes out shiny as all get out. Decap your brass and give the pocket a quick clean and off to the races you are i rarely tumble brass anymore may only load 20 or so at any given time
