You've got the wrong bayonet for the job (assuming you're referring to a British Pattern 1907 bayonet). You're looking for a US M1917 bayonet. Same blade profile as the Patt. 1907, but different muzzle ring size and height.

That doesn't make sense either. The 1917 should not fit on a Garand, being that the Garand bayonet would have a muzzle ring around .620" and the 1917 is something like .605".

my 97 is from the recent batch, no chokes, my heat shield came from East Taylor(they make them) which is now called www.partsforantiqueguns.com , it says on their web site that their product doesn't fit clones, what they mean is clones with chokes, mine worked perfectly but wouldnt work on my marstar or my cimmarron 1897

ya it was the 1897 winchester one

my other clones have nice walnut stocks, so i stripped the HD paint type stain off this one and underneath was cheap chinese wood, so i did my best and made what i could out of it
