Canada is now included in one of the American regions, and the "Canadian " director sits in Ontario and does one shoot per year.
Was big in the west 25 years ago but not down east, so felt an eastern director might make it Canada wide, ........instead it was allowed to die!
A lot of clubs still have the targets and maybe do a bit of rifle shooting, but lots don't have the range or any demand. Sad, because there are lots of 200 yards ranges and lots of big bore handguns not getting sufficient outings.
My best suggestion is to bring the subject up at your club's AGM, and get a bunch together that want to shoot. Our club still has the facilities and does offer it along with the Cowboy rifle shoots, but sadly there's hardly anyone who wants to do sufficient practice to hit at long range. I've shot since the late 70's but really think most of the old crew hung up their guns or sold them off to collect moss. Do notice lots of IHMSA guns coming on the market by the old shooters. We need some to start pushing their clubs to get back into it, ........provide the facilities and the shooters will come!
