Cheating a little, but going by the thread topic, Discontinued Ruger Cals..?, an oddity I had in a single shot handgun was the Ruger 256 Hawkeye. ;) There's another I should've kept:(.

Back in '76 remember trying to decide between 2 rifles ... an Anschutz 22 Hornet deluxe grade and a 257 Roberts round top M77 with sights, bought and still have the hornet. Not sure how many Roberts were made and for how long.

Feel the same about my 250 Savage I bought in 1976. Was going to buy one in 257 Roberts and when I went to get it it had been sold so I bought the 250-3000

I have 257 Roberts M77 MKII I bought from Wholesale in Edmonton in the early 2000's. Not sure when they got discontinued?

No shortage of Ruger .257 Roberts, they were made in several runs in the M77, M77 Mark II and Hawkeye versions.

I believe this was a bent bolt handle gun in 76, maybe on the shelf a bit. I ended up with 2 tang safeties in 6MM shortly thereafter, a HB Varmint BiCentennial for groundhogs and a sporter for yotes. Close to a Robert's and way better than a .243

Almost bought a Ruger in 257 Roberts in 1976 at Hall’s Sporting Goods in Swift Current Sk. It was the model without sights and I barely had enough $ for the rifle with nothing left for the scope . Wally sold me a MINT Husqvarna in 25/06 for $20 less then through in a box of 120 grain Remington.

Still would like a Roberts

Have the tang safety round top in 257 Roberts.
Sold the 6mm and 220 swift 77V’s a long ago but damn they were nice with triggers you could work on and they shot like none other.
Sold the 250 and 22-250 RSI’s and regretted it ever since.
Live and learn but glad to have held them all.
The tang safety 77’s are still my favourite Ruger.
Still have the Liberty 76 in 7x57 looking like the day it came out of the box.
Great rifles.

I found my old Ruger 77V 6mm Rem in the back of the cabinet. No scope. Neglected. So I refinished it. Put a scope on it and found some old 70gr Ballistic Tip reloads from before. Still shoots like it used to.
