Hi,
I am trying to create a fixture to allow my first-generation M&P pistol magazines to fit my Ruger PC9 carbine.
Rough Concept Shown
When comparing the SR9 magazine that came with the rifle with that of my daughters first generation S&W M&P I noticed that the tooling holes looked to be the same size (#34 Drill) and spaced equally apart (2.25 inches).
Further investigation shows that the distance from the mag lips to the topmost hole is identical.
This begs the question: If all things are equal could I not build a drilling/filing fixture to duplicate the Ruger square slot so that my S&W M&P mags could fit in the PC9 carbine.
Ask:
On the front face of the M&P magazine (where the caliber and S&W logo are located), there are two tooling holes located approx 2.25 inches apart.
I need to know if the first generation tooling holes are identical on the second one so that I only need to develop one fixture (instead of two).
1. If possible, could you measure the size of the holes (find the nearest drill bit that will drop into the hole).
2. Need to confirm the center distance between each set of holes is 2.25 inches for all S&W magazines.
Can you include your measurements and tell me what series of S&W magazine it is.
Thanks,
L
