For anyone who wants to know where it was, I have a placemark for the old Small Arms Limited Long Branch Arsenals site. If you pmail me your email address I'll send it to you. Google Earth is a very cool program...

I just looked over the site on Google Earth, and I can see that a waterfront trail runs right beside and behind the site now, as I believe Mark Harmon has mentioned, so anybody can ride by and through the site on a bike...
Too bad our country hates it's history so...

I have a Google Earth placemark that I can email that is planted right on the sight of the former Long Branch Arsenals...I used to live around there so know exactly where it was, plus the first gun club I joined used to shoot at the Bunker range behind it. Pmail me your email addy and I'll send the Google Earth Placemark.
If you don't already have this excellent and amazing program, I highly recommend downloading it, it's free and very cool.

I lived in Long Branch on 42nd St starting in 1950. I regularly heard small arms fire from CAL.

I used to fire on the grounds of the old "Army Camp", situated in Lakeview (which was where CAL actually was, not in Long Branch).

Where did you live. Go to James S, Bell?

Curious.

I lived in a few spots in Long Branch and Mimico (probably about 6-8 different apartments plus a house rental, the last as recently as 10 years ago), but never went to school there, just lived there when I was around 18-22 while working. I still like the area. I remember looking at the Long Branch building many times, it was just a Post Office building by then, semi utilized.

I shot at a small bunker that you would step down into years ago around the corner from Long Branch. It was behind a factory and west of a driving range.

When we walked around the netting was to our east side.

Is this the same place you guys are talking about

That's where the gun club I joined shot...it was called the Bunker. Behind Danfoss. But that's not the Arsenal, the Arsenal was directly east of there.

"...was called the Bunker..." That's the polite term. Rumour had it that the range building had been either an ammo storage building or test range. Nobody knew for sure.
In the old days, before the building was torn down, when you were stopped at the light, southbound, at Dixie and the Lakeshore, the Canadian Arsenals plant was across the street on the left. Directly East of the Hydro Training/Mississauga COPS Army Cadet building.
On Mapquest's aerial view(lets you get down to a 50 meter scale) of that area, the funnel shaped 'parking lot' is where the plant was. The 'bunker' is under the trees just north of the oil storage tanks.
