Does anyone know if any company still makes the 3.5" #4 buck load or any stores that stock it? Perferably in canada to cut down on shipping costs

Been working out a bit and i think im strong enough to haul out one of my tens for coyote hunting and #4 buck really works well in my 12s. Biggest lead i can find is #4 turkey loads and 00buck.

Cannot get it down this way for sure
I have to reload 4 buck in 10ga
Don't know if you reload but there was a member here out west that had 25 pound bags of 4 buck for sale if he will chime in even with the shipping it was worth buying
Cheers

I am buying in New Hampshire Hevi-shot 4 Buck 54 pellets 10 gauge.

My inlaw shotgun is a H&R 10 gauge full choke, this fall he did kill a running coyote at 70+ yards.

This ammo is exceptional.

I have some Federal #4 buck for my 10 bore. I think it is still available. I will do some checking. SFRC (sponsor) did have some 10 bore federal 00 buckshot recently. Yep they have 10 gauge federal buckshot 18 pellets copper plated 18.00 for 5 rounds. It will work on coyotes albeit a little heavy.
Sorry re read your post and you are aware of the 00 buck offering.

Got slugs and 00buck. Fine for bears but i was hoping for a few more pellets for those coyotes that hang up just passed normal shotgun range. 54 to 55 pellets in #4 buck really fill out that pattern. Likely if i haveto order a flat i wont get it in time for this season

4 Buck in a 10 gauge is also awesome to shoot Canada on a high pass.

We have downed many ones at 60-70 yards with the Heavy shot ammo. Those were the good times, cant do this with steel shoot anymore.

This ammo out of a full choke with 54 pellets still put 60% of the pellets within a 40 inch circle at 70 yards.

If you have no decoy, no permission to hunt, you just find a high pass and you will get some.
Many i have killed this way. When i was younger and the laws were différents.
A 4 Buck still carry a lot of energy at 70 yards, enough to pass tru thick feathers or break a wing.

I recommend it for coyote, no more permitted in Kanadea with the steel law, not permitted in NH either, i wonder if some place still permit it..:)

Ps, i made a search and they dont seem to list that ammo anymore. Lucky for us we still have an unopened case of the stuff.

Brybenn, you know exporting ammo from the US is a big legal no-no as far as the US is concerned, right?

Id have a dealer bring it in same as i do with rst and gamebore flats for my 2.5" guns

I was just hoping someone knew of a store with old stock on the shelf first.
I have lots of 12ga #4 buck to get my thru a few seasons but id really like to whack a couple with my tens

Honestly I find the only difference with the 10ga is that there is no skinning to do LOL
I remember one poor dude the old 10ga just about separated him in half at 15 yards
But agree 4 buck is the load for the 10. I tried most others reloading
Cheers

The H&R, Model 176 30 inch 10 gauge single shot full choke is one of my favorite shotgun, it weight over 10 pounds, i would not sell it. If you come accross one, BUY IT, it's exceptional.

Joining a generic picture for identification.

Never had a 30" but have had a 36" and a 22 or 24" both great for turkeys. I have a spanish sxs and older browning field pump in 10ga

OUCH
At my age all of my 10ga are now semi's :)

I've got this exact gun, the H&R single. It's for sale, but not because of harsh recoil. I bought a BPS 10 instead. I found the H&R was very easy to shoot. It weighs 9.5 lbs, but still points relatively well. I liked it on coastal black ducks, but found (as one often does when jump shooting) that a second or third shot was really needed.

LOL that is what I sold to get my first semi
Too much kick for this old dude :(

If I was shooting a box through it every time I went out, I might agree, but you're lucky to get more than a dozen shots jump-shooting blacks.

Plus it helps that I'm a bit on the heavy side. And jump-shooting in December means lots of coats and sweaters on.

Oh I am heavy 300 plus pounds and 4x coat but in PEI be nothing to shoot a box in 30 minutes some days goose hunting. Only one shotgun has ever beat me up that bad like the bps 10ga did the 835 mossy with 3 1/2 12ga OUCH :(
Cheers
