Deer hunting in logged area

Hi hunters. Looking for some advice. I'm trying to find areas on crown land that are slightly less frequented for deer hunting. Would you have any tips for scouting the area in the photos? It was logged in pictures are from 2018 to August 2019. As always, north is up in the photos.

The logged section is on a squarish plateau, higher than the surrounding area.

X2 but be prepared for longer shots too. I have seen mulies in the center of clear cuts when I was up on hills glassing the edges.

That road is going to be a magnet for guys on 4-wheelers. Is that a cabin to the NW of the cut?

Put boots on the ground, look for trails, invest in some cameras.

Yes, there's a cabin in the NW of the cut. It's the only cabin in the area. It's just over a property line, as the 100 acre lot immediately west is private land.

Most people in the area swarm the nearest area of crown land, and this is further away from town. I can only hope that a minimum of hunters have noticed the logging. The only reason I did was because the farmer whose land I hunted decided he would let his sons hunt it instead, which is good for them.

There's a natural funnel in the area where I drew the arrow. I would put a couple of cameras there and see what turns up. Also check the outside corners at the south end of the cut. There looks to be a dry beaver pond to the west: that's not a barrier, and the deer will cross it at will, and if it's not too wet, often bed down in the middle of it.

Hate to tell you guys, deer hunting is not a military operation, you'll find them, where they decide to go.

Yes, because that is how deer hunting works..... You just "find them"..... No need to scout, no need to work for it... Just find them where they are at..... Lol
