20 Gauge Fans ?

The 410 for me was the humbler I would call it
When my head would swell with the other gauges and I thought I could shoot well I would take the 410 out to put in back in place :(

An excellent point, I see many new shooters getting very frustrated after being started with a 410. I have 410 barrels for my K-20, and I shoot them a lot at skeet, but I would never hunt with a 410.

What the video shows me is that had the 12 gauge shooter swapped his mod choke for an IC his pattern would be larger and denser.

There is no magic with the 28. Most 28 gauge guns are made on 20 gauge frames. I got out of the 28 gauge when it occurred to me that for the same weight I could have a gauge that was cheaper, more available and came in a wider variety of shell types.

I'd agree in a way... In owning the four gauges (12, 20, 28, and 410) all I can say is that I've never noticed any sort of "ballistic superiority" or anything like that with the 28ga, or whats described in the video...

Simply put, I like and appreciate shotguns,... over & unders, side by sides, and iron and wood pumps...

My affection for the 28 simply comes from its weight and fast handling. I prefer 28's on a 28ga frame, not on on one that's shared between a 20 and 28... My 28ga Beretta Silver Pigion S is on a dedicated 28ga frame, and I wouldn't have it any other way... It's served me very well on a variety of different hunts, from Griffith Island Pheasant drives, to Ruffed Grouse up North, to small game in the back yard. Its a nice to have, not a need to have kinda thing... But it was particularity nice to have on some big pheasant hunts where a lot of ground was covered, and you're carrying a lot of shells... I wouldn't say that it performed superior to a 12 on those pheasant hunts, but I certainly didn't miss carrying the 12 either, and it killed those pheasant dead just like its bigger 12ga Beretta brother...

Not really true regardless what some say . Lots of the baby frames out there. Many of mine are NOT and yes they are normally more money which is why many don't buy one
The last 28 I sold a ruger O/U was sweet and on a 28 frame. Just have to look

For me availability is the issue. My nearest sporting goods store is a ferry, minimum half a day. They carry common calibers, maybe one bottle of powder. Zero chance they have 28 ga.

Everything has to come on free shipping offers, or gets purchased when im at a larger center.

I own several M37s. Only missing the 16 gauge. And i can say certainly the 28 is built to proper scale.
