Sig P226 9mm Platinum Elite or P220 Platinum Elite

Up-level P220's aren't that common. I see that Cabela's has one version of the P220 in stock but not the Platinum Elite. My favourite 45 was my P220.
 
I had the German P220 as well. The sights took some getting used to. Wished I had kept it. That and my Sig Nightmare 1911.

Ah, well. If I can't locate the Platinum Elite.....I may have to just get an Enhanced Elite or Stainless Elite. But holy crap have prices ever gone up over the last year and a half. I see guys selling pistols for more than they would've paid for them when new. Unreal.

Yup, prices are back up to where they were about 10 years ago. Our dollar keeps sinking
 
Not many new platinum elite models around,discontinued I think. I have one in 40S&W and it is a beauty - solid, accurate and stunning.

Yes, you are right the Platinum Elite is discontinued. I should have made myself clear I was referring to your second or third choice of the Elite Stainless. I think I only waited about two months for my P226 Elite Stainless.

The P226 is a .40 but, the P220 is perfect. I've never used Gunbroker before. Looks like eBay for guns. Do I pay the seller on Gunbroker and have him ship it to Irunguns ? Sounds like this might be cost prohibitive
 
It is a question of how much you want it. You must register, contact the seller and see if they are willing to do the paper work and send it to the FFL dealer IRunGuns or Prophet River uses. I've done it a few times (Prophet River) and it is costly and takes time. (especially with the dollar tanked)

But, I've been happy with it and what I bought.

I had a Platinum Elite 226 in 9mm w/aluminum grips, it was a beauty. Will probably be tough to find one... Gunbroker will cost you a large fee and most likely will be not cost effective.
