Where did all the Milsurps go ???

^^the WTB ads are for guys looking for something at around 1/2 the price of what it should sell for. They are fishing for the sucker. I gave up responding to these ads.

I have seen WTB ads right above a WTS ad for exactly the same thing and the WTS price was reasonable...and yet it didn't sell!

Depends, I have had people offer items at well above the average on the WTB simply because they seem to think WTB means desperate to buy. I have also made offers to people on the WTB and I have made a few sales that way.

Lol... I guess I'll just delete my PM I was writing you....if you don't know...

All good; for what it's worth, my milsurp "collecting" basically started with me buying-up whatever Loewe-manufacture Mauser rifles & carbines I came across. There wasn't a real demand for them at the time, so I was able to find a few "full wood" examples. I still keep an eye peeled for 'em... :yingyang:

You dont seem rude at all no I'm not chasing a unicorn I'm just going on the facts of A it's a milsurp b hundreds of thousands were made. 600 for a rifle that has basically no use other than collecting and range practice I cant justify some of those prices u literally can find k98 on gunbroker for 230-300 USD

Lol buy one from gunbroker then for $300 USD ($410 CAD)... IRG will import it for you for $400 after fees and shipping. $810 CAD is the final price... $600 sounding better yet?

I've been hunting for a couple specific rifles and having no luck on EE or online. Are most people just buying state side now I'm not looking for collector grade rifles just something to have for historic value and to have fun with at the range.

Well, if you are young, in your mid-20 then it might wise to wait a bit.
As time goes by, as the gun owning population in Canada grow old, their collection will show up in the market.
In another 10 20 years time you will see more used guns showing up in the market as people find out how much it cost for "assisted living" "home care nursing" ".
It will be "do you want to hire extra home care support so that you can have a bath and a diaper change every day" or keep your collection of Mauser ?

I want to die before becoming a 95 years old monkey.

I'll keep the Mausers, go Commando and Diaper-less, drink Tang and suck Apollo 11 Astronaut food from a baggie, and bath in the snow and crik!

If you have this mentality you do not have a real passion for milsurp.

Guess not. I love history, I read a lot. I just thought it was amazing to own a piece of the history I've read so much about.

I'm fairly young at 31. I have a high paying job and am good with money, so I see a cool piece of history for a few hundred bucks, sure I'll take that. That same thing triples or more in a few years... yeah I'll allocate those resources to my young family.

I'll lick toilet seats for nutrients and nutrition when I'm old and have no food to eat, just to keep a Mauser!

Ya, I got it bad! The Gun Addiction!
