I see mossberg is jumping on the retro band wagon. To bad they are way overpriced. You can still find real 1970"s 500 ATPs for 1/3 of the price and you end up with a better gun to boot !...lol...

I bought this a long time ago when I first go into firearms. Glad I kept it all original !

Ok. Is it secured only up at the front? Is the shield the same length and width from rear to front or does it taper slightly like the actual 590a1 barrel?

Tabs around the barrel near the receiver and bolts and a spacer near the muzzle. It tapers with the barrel.

Good idea... especially if you had a bayonet mount on the 14" barrel!!! Mossberg...make it!

Interesting ( I’m assuming that’s a modded ‘shield?). If so, front cut off( no screw down section) and rear barrel bands are still there? Front JBwelded to barrel?

I would love to be able to buy a 590A1 heatshield kit. I'll post some pics of my 590 Persuader with Mossberg 500AB wood (I refinished the furniture late last summer). Paid $240 plus $125 for the choke installation (plus taxes). WSS used to have the best clearance deals...
