Yeah... but those god awful factory fixed mag might save SKS from being restricted or prohibited.

No. But 30 rnd mag pinned to 5 rounds is like Lada with plastic crap to look like Ferrari.
Lots of bad-mouthing here, but in all honesty: if you don't like it, don't buy it! Aftermarket stocks don't alter the rifle permanently in any way, and offer something the original couldn't, like a more comfortable grip with an adjustable length of pull, and detachable mags.
Yeah, it's a ghetto gun, but it's fun.
