Im new to the site but have been looking for a good deal on the sr1911, i seen canadaammo had one for under 800 but there sold out, im looking for some prices, perferred websites to order from, thanks in advanced !

The Can Ammo one was used, hence the lower price.
I'd be looking at a Sig 1911, the base models are about the same price as the Ruger these days.
Even a Springer Operator is less then the Ruger.

Are the springfield ones good? Im looking for a solid all around stainless steel, i love the look of them, i also was looking at s&w series e, and the remington r1

I've got a Ruger SR1911 and a Remington 'Commander', both in SS and .45 ACP.

Both great guns with good triggers out of the box and tight slide to frame fit.

Much to my surprise, I shoot my steel frame 'Commander' 1911s as well if not better than my Government models.

They are the size a 1911 should have been from the get-go.
 
While I don't have one, I have had the good fortune of shooting a SIG that belongs to a friend of mine. Nothing wrong with Ruger or Springfield, but the fit and finish on the SIG surpasses both IMO.
 
I have 2 govt. R1's for wild bunch. They both shoot fabulous. I have put thousands of rounds through them not a single issue.

I have one that I came across on the EE forum. I was in for a 1911 in .45 so could not pass at the price he was asking. It's a gun I love to shoot. Take your time and you'll see one appears..

Sweet collection! I sold mine to my brother years ago, wish I didn't, but I have a colt rail gun

The prices of these have doubled since I bought mine for 799 new when they first came out

Would love one in 9mm

That first one is an sr45, not a 1911
 
The OP has only 3 posts so he won't be able to access the EE yet. I suggest the OP work on getting his access to the EE.

Then he can lurk or check in at least 5 times a day to jump on the next best deal.
