I can't understand why people do not install Kick-Eez recoil pads.
The recoil reduction in felt recoil between that red pad and a Limbsaver is the same as between the Limbsaver and the Kick-Eez.
I can shoot my 21" barreled Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM all day with a Kick-Eez pad installed.

I wear a shotgun style field recoil pad under my shirt, avoiding the need for flip flop foam tacked onto my nice stocks.

Orange and red pads are actually an English touch, the original Ruger No.1s shipped with them for quite a few years as well. Personally I’m neither here nor there on them.
With really nice walnut they can be a rather coordinated accent touch.

Can't argue that one. I've fitted a few rifles and shotguns with red pads over the years with no regrets. The thing I've found with the red rubber units though is that the red rubber compound breaks down a lot faster over time than the black pads. Red rubber hardens faster and oxidizes to pinkish color if not treated with a bit of Armorall type protectant every now & then.
I like the English leather clad butt pads as well.
