First evening out with my BCL-102

Nice doe.
This from the MNR Hunting regs for Ontario: "Under the Criminal Code of Canada you generally cannot possess any clip/magazine that holds more than five shots for a semi-automatic centrefire firearm." pg 23 left side bottom. I would hazard to guess this reg is for hunting purposes as we have the term "generally" in there.

Canadian law prohibits ANY Center fire rifle to have a mag that will allow more than 5 rounds.
You can have a 100 round mag, but it MUST be pinned to 5

Pistol mags (Center fire) MUST be pinned to 10.

There is a grey area regarding pistol mags in a rifle. I know of a few pistol caliber rifles that accept pistol mags, and I hear mixed information on what the law states. However, when hunting in Canada, 5 is the law..... ALL ACROSS THE ENTIRE COUNTRY.
This is not a regional or provincial law, it’s federal, and stands currently.

Do what you want in BC, but know the law going in. If you choose to break it, that’s up to you.
I sometimes speed, and do rolling stop signs too....

You Sir, are somewhat misinformed. But please carry on with your rolling stops, hopefully not in my vicinity.

Not my cup of tea for a hunting rifle, but good to see it being used effectively.

Plus...this thread flushed out yet another CGN legal expert; it really feels comforting to know those guys are around, making up laws as they go! :)

Please provide and quote the Section and Paragraph from the applicable Act that indicates this.
Hunting is not really my jam but I do like seeing the scary black (in this case green) rifles being used for hunting. I also LOVE it when some one tries to post their interpretation of the law with no facts to back it up. Put up or Shut up. We don't need any more people on this forum peddling false regs/ laws/ info.

Additionally, it is illegal to merely possess a Center fire rifle mag in Canada, that is not pinned

You should really check your "facts" before spewing them all over the interwebs, for every person who knows better to see...

You're so wrong.

f:P:

correct, this came up in another thread recently though the firearm was a .22
in BC only shotguns have magazine restrictions and the default for all other firearms is the firearms act.
this information can be viewed by googling the BC Wildlife Act which is better than perusing the hunting regulations for this info.

For large game there is no limit for shotguns either.

Page 17:
It is unlawful to hunt or trap with a set gun or with a pump, repeating or auto loading shotgun unless the magazine contains a plug that is incapable of holding more than 2 cartridges. Where the use of a shotgun is allowed for hunting or trapping big game, an unplugged shotgun holding more than 2 cartridges and firing single projectiles only (slugs) may be used.

Wrong. Just as an example, some savage 110 models comes with a 10 aics mag, and they can be easily purchased and used legally. It’s all about the action.

BCL is awesome! I had the retainer pin break, as well as the extractor and BCL sent replacement parts the next day

I'd get some new mags other than the stock mags if you haven't, all of my stock mags were total s**t and would cause the gun to jam. Plus running AR mags gives you 10 rounds :ar15:

Nice Deer! I have a 102 as well but It's too heavy for me to drag around the woods, I set it up as a bench shooter and stick to the bolt guns for hunting.

I just realized he's the guy claiming a sub-MOA sks, with peep sites. And the guy who's seen guys hit in combat with 5.56, 7.62 and watched guys walk through 9mm hits while the .45 drops 'em in 1!

Nothing but a troll. An entertaining one, but I don't think HE realizes he is a troll. I think he believes it all. His short post history is entertaining.
