The New WK-180C and WS-MCR Build Thread

Not sure if this is the right spot for it, but YouTube user Homestead Riflemen posted a good video of the WS-MCR in action, including some lovely slow motion shots from an angle that highlights how nicely the brass deflector works. Also shows the basic take-down procedure, including charging handle swapping. He mentioned he swapped his pistol grip, as the stock one felt too small for both shooter's hands, and the swapped the butt stock for a well-loved one the shooter was used to.

Project SLICK, the self loading intermediate caliber karabiner. Modded vz.58 folder, modded hiperfire hipergrip, magpul mlock sling clip, run it with a surplus G3 leather sling.

What we really need is a source of mid-length gas pistons; 18.6in AR barrels are much easier to find with mid-length gas.

I know Range Warrior Accessories used to make the part you are looking for, but I read elsewhere on the forum they've since gone out of business :( The Calgary Shooting Centre used to retail some of their parts; you may want to contact them to see if they have some stock left. Good luck!

How do you guys buy a “cool” gun that looks like someone made it with hand tools? The boxy upper just throws me off

An affordable true ar15 like experience for 1550 now available. That'll be my guess

This is the most likely reason. I'm glad I held off on the WK. It's a neat rifle but the see-through receiver and Com-Bloc style construcion turned me off. It was clear that it was rushed to market with little thought put into aesthetics and design. The Coyote SLR looks way better in almost every way. I have one ordered up now. If it's reliable, which I'm fairly confident it will be, it'll outsell the WK rapidly.

Gotta say that I agree.

I'd hazard a guess and say that most people who bought the 180-C wanted a NR AR-15 type rifle but didn't want/couldn't afford to spend twice as much for a basic MDI or ATRS receiver set build. They bought the 180-C settling on it's differences and shortcomings mainly because it fit their budget. Now that there is an offering that's somewhere between the Chevette and the Cadillac they're trading in the Chevette.

I passed on the wk when they first came out. I was like daaamn that's fugly lol but recently came into one on trade and honestly like it. Is it an ar? Is it perfect? Nope but I still like it!
