Does anyone have any info or pic's of a Ross Factory sporter they would like to share?

Rossguy, have you any of the oval bored sporters, this is the only one I have seen in person and lucky enough to buy, but by the Ross book they used some of the Lancaster barrels in the Hartford and in some of the early Quebec sporters.
I would also like to get a 6.5 factory sporter

John- I have two similar to yours....one .303 Oval Bore and another just weeks earlier in 6.5 Mannlicher. As this site is on the wrong side of the razor-wire, I'm not brave enough to post serials here- E me direct at barryj@localnet.com and we can discuss further. Also can send you to a real craftsman who can repair your case handle- he did a great job on my Cogswell & Harrison case with 1907 SDS within.

Charles Lancaster made barrels that are smooth inside but is oval, just like a 2 groove barrel excepts but smooth inside. They look like they are woren out. These barrels were first used in muzzleloaders but Lancaster used them on center fire rifles also. I am not sure when they quite, my gun is a 1901 action but may not have been finished until 1902 or 3. It is in 375 2 1/2 nitro Some of the Quebec Ross sporters also used the Lancaster barrels according to what I have read. This is the only one I have seen but Ihave heard of a 303 and I see Rossguy has a couple, lucky guy
