Hi all,

I have the chance to buy a Win M70 in 6mm CHeetah. Being a 6mm fan it appeals to me. I haven't been able to glean much info online, other than a page in cartridges of the world and discussions on a few forums.

I've read that it's parent case is the .243 and there's 2 versions. One with a 40* shoulder and one with a 28*.

Does anyone have cartridge dimensions? Steps taken to get from .243 to 6mmCH?

I really enjoy reloading, so the extra steps in getting useable brass doesn't bother me. I'm looking for accuracy.

Assuming the barrel is in good shape, would I see much accuracy improvement over my .244Rem, or would it be more headache to bother?

Brad

If buying a used CHeetah, I would want a look at the bore
prior to purchase. [with a borescope] Dave.

From what I have found, the 6mm Cheetah seems to only be in the 40deg shoulder. You may have better GoogleFu skills than I do though.
Redding makes dies for it.
Your 6mm Remington likely holds a little bit less powder than a 6mm CHeetah, based on H20 capacity. But maybe not, they are likely quite close.
To go from 243 to a 40deg Cheetah, you would likely need to trim the necks to obtain the correct case length, then fireform your brass to blow them out to 40 deg. BUT I don't have 6mm CHeeta case dimensions to verify that. I'm making the assumption the neck junction is out far enough you could chamber trimmed 243 brass.
I'd see if they have some fired brass available, the current owner might be able to give you more information that we can. If that's a possibility.

Absolutely! Round count is supposed to be around the 200 mark.

Yes, 40* shoulder. It comes with dies too. I found this, but that's about all. I can't seem to find case dimensions either. That's what I'm really searching for.
