McMillan stocks to Canada

ordered and purchased mine via Alberta Tactical .... had no issues ...
Is this old news? AT orders all the time for customers, takes about 3-4 months

Yep old news.

Years ago a person used to be able to order direct from McM or drop ship from the USA. No extra import fees.
It may happen again.

I just bumped the thread to see if anyone heard the same.

I haven't heard any change to export regulations. I am a McMillan importer, just finished paperwork for the next few years

Tod, what is the import fee and required down payment for a McMillan? Thanks.

I do not charge an export fee, just the $75USD freight for the stock. Down payment I typically do 50% when order is placed and the balance when order is ready to ship. EMT preferred

Export of certain firearms and parts will transfer form the State Department to the Department of Commerce. This is considered positive for businesses in the USA.

NEWS BLAST TO ALL INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS

GREAT NEWS – There are new rules and regulations concerning exporting our stocks.

Under the new regulations an export license will NOT be required for MOST of our international customers. Effective March 9, 2020.

Rifle stocks will now be regulated by the Department of Commerce rules and regulations. (Moved over to Commerce from US State Department)

There will be certain countries and circumstances an export license will still be required, but please contact us if you have a question.

That is great news to hear from McMillan!!! Question is the $500 USD limit I have been reading about. Won't that kill international shipping as their in-letted stocks are north of that mark?

That’s a good question, if my understanding is correct, in dealing with Brownells for instance the $500 limit is a condition of their standing export permit. Given that few of McMillans offerings are below the $500 mark, and their statement that NO export permit is required, that the dollar figure no longer applies.

First person to order after the date can confirm, but I am thinking that no permit means no associated limit-as was the case before the requirement for export permits was extended to cover their stocks in the first place.

Could send off an email to Eileen, she has always been super helpful

I asked a McMillan sales rep today.

According to him we are good to go. We can order direct and they will mail directly to a Canadian customer now.
Rifle stocks are separate from the $500.00 rule.

This is good news, thanks for sharing the update.

It was a sad day when Robertson closed up shop, his stocks are superb and a real loss to the Canadian shooting community.
