Hey guys,

I got a box of DRG hard cast bullets (9mm, 125gr RN) that I want to load up using Titegroup powder. I looked at my loading manual at seems I need to start at 3gr of powder. I use 4gr when I load a CMJ frontier.

Why do we put less powder behind lead vs. CMJ? Can someone please post a recipe for DRG hardcast 9mm 125gr RN?

Thanks,

I do not use tightgroup, but I have had good success with 4.4 grains of unique. Less powder used with lead helps to keep the velocity below 1000 fps, generally this helps to reduce leading.

I really like the DRG Cast bullets, I use them in .38, 357, 9mm and 45 ACP.

I have been using 3.7 grains of titegroup and seat the bullets to a col of 1.125 with those bullets. this seems to work well in my sig226. If you go to hodgdon's website they list 3.6 grains as a starting load and 4.0 grains as a max for a 125 lcn bullet (lead conical nose). When I started using titegroup I called thier 1 - 800 number and was told this was the data to use for a 125 grain lead round nose bullet.
