Magazine cleaning

Depending on magazine... I usually disassemble and wipe with rag: Hoppes #9 if the dirt is tenacious. It's usually carbon deposited when the action opens after discharge, it makes sense to just use what's on hand that one uses in regular gun cleaning.

I throw them in the ultrasonic cleaner.
Brake cleaner works well on metal parts, I'm always hesitant on plastic bits.
Soap and water, and a small brush probably works well if you have the time.

Same here. Wipe the followers and the same cleaning rag for the rest. So far nary a magazine malfunction.

Brake cleaner works awesome but damn not sure on plastic parts. I worried about hoppes 9 because it seams to based on an oil product (if that makes sense). I just don’t want to attract more dirt using oily cleaners.

YouTube experts say to use soap n water. I have steel pistol mags that need a bath... mostly the followers.

Any recommendations?

Welp, I take boiling water from my kettle and pour it over my parts while in the sink in a chinois .
Of course the parts have been well scrubbed with my favourite parts cleaner...a stiff dose of simple green and scrubbed with a stiff tooth brush I stole from the ole lady ;)
Pour the water right outta the kettle and rinse them off and let dry in a rack.
The heat will evaporate the moisture and with a wipe of a paper towel any remiang moisture is gone.
Spray down with G-96 and re-assemble.
Your technique may vary of course.

Learned this trick many years ago (30) and it is my go to for the Wingmastes, 1100 and the bolts from all of/any of my guns.
G-96 in the kitchen cause issues with mom back in the day, but she did come around to.
She wasnt asked to teach me to pluck ducks and geese so I assume she saw the silver lining, lol.
