Not available in Canada as far as I know ... and I have looked around for a while now and had to build my Tac-14 myself ....
You would have to build one based on a 500 or 590 and with a barrel conversion kit ...

Also, Gravel Agency is supposed to bring the Tac-14s into Canada ....

Most of them are in 12ga, I want the 20ga version and they’re apparently 3-4months away :(

What I find interesting though is they charge more to give you a shorter barrel and tinier stock lol..it’s like a secret tax on preppers lol

They will be available in Canada 12ga and 20ga

Orders have been sent in by Canadian Distributors

Ohhhhhhhhhhh ..... not again that video ..... :-(

In that video Ian missed the point that you actually have to aim with a birds head grip shotgun ....
(actually he did not use a birds head grip shotgun)

It just takes one video to create a whole myth .... :-(

Agreed. Just because one particular guy has troubles hitting his target doesn't make the gun a bad gun. To each, his own; as we used to say.... I don't shoot as well without a stock as I can with one, but I have witnessed a fella outshoot me shooting skeet with a pistol-grip-only Mossberg 500. So let's just stop with all these blanket generalizations. ;) You can become proficient with any gun if you practice and develop the necessary skills.

And what myth would that be?

To each their own. Other than the fun factor, I personally think birds head gripped shotguns belong in a backpack, behind a seat or inside a coat. To actually take one hunting (not SHTF) is 100% unethical IMO. I can appreciate that some have gotten adept with them, but to intentionally cripple yourself when taking game is not cool.

Just curious, would you say the same thing to hunting with a handgun, for those who chose to do so where such things are legal?

Are we talking about a 7" Redhawk in 44 mag, or a derringer in 45 colt? I'd take issue with the later, not the former.

plenty of big game has been taken with 45LC. And just because you or I can't hit crap with a small framed pistol doesn't mean that someone who has practiced for this exact hunt will be unable to do so. Some hunters seek out the challenge. handguns, bows, spears, hog hunting with a big ass knife, or even non-stocked shotguns. All can be used for an ethical hunt if wielded by an ethical hunter. ;)

All I got from Ian’s video is that he had a bias against the shockwave or pistol grip set up from the get go, so I know right away he’s not going to be objective about it in the first place. Also if you’re going to try and disprove something you should actually use said thing and not something similar but not actually the thing you’re saying is useless lol. Clearly if you spend enough time shooting a shockwave gripped shotgun with the intention of becoming proficient with it you will get pretty good with it within the limits of its use, as is displayed by Brobee223. Practice is what counts, your feelings are irrelevant.

I shouldn't have clouded the conversation by using 2 calibres, but as no derringer's I know of are in 44 mag, I went with 45. I personally would take issue with anyone choosing to use a derringer to hunt with, no question. Using a 1" pistol as backup to your primary weapon against dangerous game, different issue altogether. I'm also firmly with AFGA on spears, nothing ethical about that at all, glad they are banned in AB. I'm not talking SHTF, sustenance in tough times, just choosing to use something because you can.
