Hey folks,

This is probably a stupid question, but is it possible to do without a vice? I dropped my rifle off at a shop after buying a new barrel, but didn't realize the barrel wrench was proprietary, and specific to my particular fore end. I don't actually live near a gun shop that does work like that.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Cheers

I swapped a barrel on a 102 with a pipe wrench, large adjustable wrench and a roll of duct tape. So yeah, it's possible, but not really a super idea.

What proprietary barrel nut do you have that didn’t come with its respective wrench? Sounds like you need a wrench more than a vice. Give us a little more info on what you have and perhaps someone here may be able to help you out.

Sorry I have the wrench I just didn't bring it with me. I bought the rifle off a guy on here and he sent it with the rifle. I dropped it off in red deer on the way north for work. I just don't have a vice.

So what handguard do you have? I’m presuming you dropped it off at RDSC.
