Prices going up on in stock guns

I suspect the used market is about to get even more choice than it had the last year and used prices will drop a lot as people run out of money. If you’re in the know (CGN EE) you’ll know where to buy used. May not be exactly what you’re looking for but you may find something better for less too!

Ive seen some real Jems come up that would have never been put up for sale if Trudeau didn’t kill our natural resource sector. This will be an extension of that same effect.

Yes & No, This has been discussed ad nausea for years here.

The EE can and has gone sideways on used pricing on a whim.

While every member has the right to list their wares at what they want price wise, some should take note that if they're having to "btt" it more than two/three times chances are their price is off kilter to some degree.

By the same token, given current events and manufacturers shutting down or slowing production and our US counterparts going into another Sandy Hook panic spree, we could very well see used prices go up due to little stock inbound from the US over the next 6-12mnths, as opposed to a fire sale mentality the longer most of us are out of work, that you suggest.

It really is going to depend on a lot of variables like what's currently avail stock wise, what the general public thinks is "the" unit to have right now, exchange rate and up-charge by distributers/dealers etc.

Until all that unfolds and/or businesses are back up and running, daily life returns to normal & we enthusiasts are wanting new gear, hardware and ammo thats when you'll see the change.

Up or down..

Maybe stocking dealers have some inside scoop that C71 will not be implemented anymore due to the Covid 19 crisis. The Libs have no where to get the funds for a buyback. And there's no way they're gonna confiscate our beloved guns now.

For a dealer it really doesn't matter if it is in stock or not. If we haven't paid for it yet, most of us have terms with the distributors, and we pay in US dollars as most of us do, we have to raise the price. You can also expect to see large increases with S&W as they got rid of the buy 5 or 6 and get another gun free promotion. Most of us factored that into the pricing of the gun.

Ryan

Well I was going to pull the proverbial trigger on a new revolver this morning.
Have been looking for a new 357 as of late, and this weekend I found what I have been looking for on one of the site sponsors here.
A S&W 686 Pro Plus, looked like just what I wanted.
So I thought when I get to work on monday I will buy here up.
So put it in my cart $1099.00
Went to truck to get my wallet, then the phone rings, so about a hour goes buy before I can get back to my computer.
We my cart has timed out, no big deal I will just put it back in the cart.
WHAT!!! now the price is $1399.00, still 3 instock just like all weekend and first thing this morning.
Well maybe a glitch, go to phone them, but they are closed for the next 3 days to fulfill orders.
I hope that its just a glitch, really had my heart set on that one, but not going to pay a extra $300 just because they are trying to gouge because people are panic buying.

Lol. They have nowhere to get the funds? That’s funny. I suspect they (the government in general, not just the libs) could find the funds the same place they magically found that $82 billion in relief funds for COVID-19 or the $118 billion in bank subsidies back in 2008.

If it was an essential item like food that will have fairly consistent demand no matter what, I could see the negative response to a price increase like this. A 1000+ handgun is basically a luxury item and dealers need to prepare themselves for if after this buying frenzy there will be a long period where discretionary spending decreases as the economy rebuilds.

I don't know enough about economics to comment on what strategy is best, but I think we can expect pricing all over the map as businesses try to stay above water... and I wish them good luck!

Yes the shop I dont buy from anymore, increased glock prices on pistols they have had for months, even if I have to pay shipping I will in the future support someone else.

Some of you won't have any places left to shop once the smoke clears. Everything is going to be more expensive for quite some time. I just purchased an S2 OR for $1309 tax in from Tenda, which I thought was a pretty good "COVID price".
