209 shotgun primer substituion

Around our house back in the day it was a series of several big farts over several hours, kinda liken it to rolling thunder. My Mom's pickled eggs were highly cherished items. There was usually always a dozen or more in the fridge at all times.I know this has sidetracked the thread a bit but sure brings back a lot of nice childhood memories.

Same here but it was normally my grandmothers place. No fridge really unless one classes the old ice block one she had but kept them in her unheated porch on a shelf. Home it was hit and miss for them
At baba's always a bottle of eggs, pickles and wieners since she could not afford to buy real polish sausage
I just bought the wieners and am going to try to make a batch today since I have one gallon bottle left empty. I would say easy 30 years since I had any of those
Cheers

Ok that does it,probably 15 or more years for me since I've sampled those treats,I'm building a batch right shortly.Pickled weiners were right up there with the eggs as well at the Vet's Club where I grew up,the equivalent of a Legion Hall.

When we were young teens, a friend of mine's mother owned a hotel/tavern. He stole a case of Molson Canadian and a jar of pickled wieners, and I brought a jar of pickled eggs. We went camping, ate a bunch of eggs and wieners, got smashed and retired to our princely 5X7 pup tent. Next morning, we both woke up sleeping outside the tent. The toxic fumes inside the tent were WMD's.

Holy ####e that's funny, even more so because I've basically been in the same sort of predicament.Maybe we should be starting a dedicated pickled eggs, wieners and sausage thread!

209 Primer thread, hijacked by bottled farts discourse.

Hey primer problem is fixed :) so we moved to other forms of explosives LOL
Have to do something to keep my old mind busy in these strange times. I cannot wait for 6 more days to try my eggs
Wieners were done in hot sauce :)
Cheers

Nothing was high jacked found my Fiocchi primers and got a good laugh with this thread . Doing more eggs today and prepping some pork shoulders for some Polish garlic sausage my dads old recipe he owned a small butcher shop and we made and smoked 300 lbs a week . Most kids played hockey I chopped garlic and turned the crank on the stuffing machine during most of my youth but as a reward my dad bought me a model 12 in 16 gauge . regards Gents

LOL. Well I was good and just tried the first eggs after 12 days and not sure if as good as my grandmothers but sure good for a first batch :)
Now to stay out of them LOL
Cheers

To funny Mac it's the beer not the picked wieners and eggs that will get you. How did the wieners turn out ?

Just to finish this the pickled eggs were wonderful so much so I put down another 5 dozen :)
Wieners not so good. Did another batch and put in 4x the hot sauce or an entire bottle. I think that will do it this time
take care

You must like it HOT!! my warden has a great hot sauce honey chicken wing recipe that I use on the barbeque.

No not really. I used a cup in a 1/2 gallon bottle and you could barely taste it
Wieners were also real tough skinned it seemed and the mix didnot seem to penetrate
take care
