Turkey decoys

Well im almost bored enough to wish i was back at work so with turkey season coming up i was curious what everyone fields decoy wise. Ive always been able to limit out each year without them but the last 2 seasons ive tried them. First year i used cheap decoys and it didnt go well so i upgraded to flextone decoys. They were lighter than avians and no need to blow them up if they occur dents. They look great but i didnt get a legal bird to see them. I have the tom. A jake and 3 hens. 2 feeders and a sentry. Ill likely try them again this season. They worked great for coyotes. Shot 5 last spring
So whats eeryone using
 
I use an Avian X breeder hen and lay down hen paired with my motorized strutter, in which I use a real fan tail on the strutter. Its a killer combo. I also use a Flextone feeder hen and Jake combo. The Flextones are real nice decoys and super light to pack around.
 
Thats another reason i went flextone. I can throw 5 in a decoy bag on my back and theyre lighter than my turkey gun. I thought about converting a remote control car into a turkey decoy but harassing wildlife isnt legal and id be way to tempted to chase off those hens who sit in my spread and peck at my decoys.

The Avian products, though quite pricey, are very realistic and well made.

I use the Red Heads that purchased sometime ago from Bass Pro, still seem to work fine. One thing, I had purchased a Strutting Tom decoy a few years back and would say that it has been more detrimental rather than beneficial. I've had far more Tom's depart or stay away than I did come in hard. I'm sure others have had different experiences but now I just use a non-strutting jake over 2 maybe 3 hens.
Check on-line for deals at places like SAIL, I think they may be hurting a little due to the closures
 
I have used the primos gobble stopper combo and got my first turkey with it. Then the wife bought me an avian x stand up hen so i bought an avian x jake and laydown hen to go with it, that combo got me my 2nd turkey.

If i didnt get the avian x as a gift, i wouldve kept my gobblestopper combo as it looked and worked fine. I also never worried about stray pellets hitting them since they arent inflatible like the avian x ones.

My dad still used the flambeau foam ones and he has gotten turkey with those lol

they can't even fly and they drown themselves if they look up during a rain storm

They can't fly? So they climb the trees to roost at night?
 
Doesnt surprise me the turkey are dumber in liberal strongholds. For the rest of province they fly very well and have survived the southern ontario floods extremely well

Yeah those turkeys sure are dumb...why just the other day I heard one saying humans can’t even use punctuation! Can you believe that? He probably had just never seen one use punctuation before. Then later I heard that same dumb turkey admit that humans can use punctuation, but not very well. What a stupid bird.
 
I heard they as smart, if not smarter, than pitbulls actually.

I've been hunting them for around 25 years and killed my fair share.

I don't know if I would consider them a smart creature, but they can certainly be very wary.

In my opinion, the 2 biggest factors in being successful are location and patience.

Nicest decoys out there....Dave Smith's (DSD) by far.
