Well folks, we are fast approaching the spring opener. I for one am looking forward to some social distancing in a blind. So who is still planning on getting out in the field and chasing the elusive longbeard? And for conversation purposes to pass some time.....what will you be using this year?

I’ll be heading out with my trusted Mossberg 935 and will be using a combination of Avian X and Flextone decoys....Avian X breeder and laydown hens paired with a strutting jake for my main blind....and the Flextone jake paired with a feeder and breeder hen for when I may need to move around.

I look forward to seeing some photos this spring!!

Quiet sunny days will see me sitting in likely traveled areas with a 1892 charles daly 2.5" hammer gun or a 1947 husqvarna 20b 2.5" hammer gun
Wet cloudy weather ill likely carry my old baikal
Others that will be fielded wilk likely be a beretta a400 xplor 12ga or if im feeling strong a 10ga. Either a sxs or pump. A birds head gripped canuck regulator may see some time as well
Thats the best part of turkey season. I can take a different scattergun every day. My most used 12ga load is 7/8oz #6 copper plated shot for my modern guns. 7/8 oz #6 lead for my 2.5" guns. My 10s rock factory 3.5" 2 or 2.25oz #6 or #4
For early season ill field some flextone decoys. Once the ticks start i keep a very minimalist approach. My gun and case. A call and 10 shells. I hunt mainly small wood lots and field edges so i like to be mobile and with the number of trespassers id be afraid to walk away from 4 to 500 dollars worth of decoys

I did want to go south of the border and hunt turkeys with a rimfire but with all the virus stuff going on that will have to wait for another year

I will be heading out on opener for a few days... seriously need a break from all this shyte going on.

Looking forward to it, seeing the same flock of about 20 birds almost every afternoon down at the cabin.
Now just counting the days.

this will be my first year. i will get out and see what happens. going for my first yote hunt in a week too. either using my 870 or this jc higgins model 60 i have

2 minutes on the 4 wheeler and I'm in my blind, got my 2 last spring and been dropping corn, but unfortunately the deer get to it before the turkey most of the time.
I've always bought my tags in local gun stores, I'll have to figure out how to purchase online this time around

It’s so simple you will never go back to doing it any other way.

Looking forward to my first turkey season! Firearm - check, turkey loads - check, decoys & calls - check.

Any things I absolutely need to know aside from regs, laws, etc. Good luck to all CGNers in the upcoming turkey season!
