Hollow Point Ammo, Lots of pics!

Cool photos. I like anything interesting. Especially different ammo.

Any hollow point expansion photos ?

I don't have any good recovered ones yet, But I would like to do some sometime I can get to the range with a proper set up.
Heres one I keep on my computer desk, 147gr 9mm Black Talon,

Conserving ammo @Piperdown???? hahahahaha you???

The Shellshock cases are aluminum base and nickel alloy case.

I'll go digging and see if I can find some of the Pin Grabbers I got years back, picture is not mine. Once they strike something the unwind, think of a lead/zinc braided cable, frackin nasty when they expand. Not exactly for self defense or hunting, were invented for bowling pin matches, or so I was told.

I dug through my can of .40 S&W to see what was in there to display:

Close up of the SXT next to the Ranger T-Series, there's a significant difference between them. The SXT looks to have 8 petals rather than the 6 on the Ranger T :

Thanks for the comparison of the T series and the SXT, Great to see the difference, Surprisingly not much info online about the variations of each.

I might try to see if I can get a good, focused close-up like you did, but I've packed things away for the night.

My guess is that they might have tried the 8-petal version and found that the 6 petal version would be less susceptible to breaking up, what with the wider base to each petal providing superior strength.

I tried some better close ups of the SXT and Ranger T-Series, and threw in some Winchester PDX1 (though in .45 ACP) for good measure. Then while I had the .45 Auto can out I covered that. Then I found the can of 10mm ... You get the picture

I have always thought those federal guard dog's were a cool design. Did you find them locally?

All 3 of these came from wanstalls, and very quickly too, also ordered a box of the Winchester 9mm nato, wanted to compare it to the IMI, looks wise IMI beats it, will be a long time before I can go out and shoot them side by side though.

very cool.. do you have for those bulllets what they penetrated in water like jugs or something else?

No I don’t, I know they were hitting the bottom of the drum, it was a small 20 gallon steel drum. None went through though, ballistics gel would be fun but it’s all been done before.

This last year I seem to find myself collecting different boxes of HP ammo(380, 9mm, .40, .45 358-357 and 44), I see its very popular at this specific time as well. But for me its always been something I found interesting, The technology behind it is just plain cool. Of course in Canada there isn't a whole lot of demand for it with no CC. But some people may be using it in their FX9's, Jard's, storms, ect ect for predator control. Just thought I would post a photo of the different 9mm rounds I've collected, I have some more coming as well. I missed out on a box of the IMI die cut when it was in stock.
Anyone else find this stuff interesting?

The Federal Hydra Shock (second from the left, bottom pic)...

...is there a pin or point in the middle of the cavity? Or am I experiencing an optical conclusion?
