Quarantine Reloading Diary

So far I've just been making lots of 9mm and 45ACP trying to finish off this 8lb container of HP-38.

Another 500 sized, so now up to 2K de-primed and sized and total.
My arms are tired.

I don’t think I could reload that way, I’d get bored. I use a turret so I always go from a fired case to a completed round with four strokes. I guess that’s why a lot of people switch to a progressive press... a completed round every stroke.

I have used a friends progggresssive for 9m before.
The problem is that this is my first attempt at reloading on my own as it were.
So just a single stage to keep it all simple.

I have some 5K processed cases, already primed and another 5K washed cases.
I figure, get the seet up right for one thing at a time and have at it until the pile id gone.
So my processed are all primed now and I am 2/5ths through sizing the other cases.
I have had all the components in the basement for a while, just never had the excuse to start and give it a go.

I expect to finish the sizing and priming nest week.
The big jump for my learning curve will be adjusting the powder measure and then getting the seater crimper die adjusted right.

RCBS powder measure that came with the rock chucker kit.
One of those flip the lever and adjust the screw jobs.
Pretty much this.

Just starting tonight on 250 .308 loads for the M305 - then My72Jeep said he needs some hunting ammo so will throw another 50 cases in the mix for depriming!

For the M305 loads - I dug out the can of 147 gr pulled FMJ bullets I bought off TacticalTeacher in the 90's - the writing on the top of the can says August 95 and that sounds about right. Ran a couple hundred through the case polisher to clean them up a bit. Have about a 1/5th of the can left - and I think I bought a second can of 2000 as well so will have to dig deeper in the basement when these are gone. Already had 100 prepped cases and have another 175 resized and tumbling in the polisher for tomorrow.

Already did a couple hundred 6.5x55, now need to catch up on 44 Mag and 444 Marlin....

Managed to get another half day of work yesterday, so again, I didn't reload yesterday.

I'll pound out a few hundred more 9mm this weekend.

Also got my hands on 1000 .224" bullets and an 8lb jug of powder.... hehe. With my primer stash as good as it is, I should be able to keep going for awhile now!

I am only loading about 50 or 100 cases a day right now so I have something to do later on!!
Done most of my 308, and 260, have a mess of 6mmBR to do and in the process of loading .223 for two different rifles.
All of my .303 and .222 is done.
Trying to sort out a mess of shotgun stuff as well, attempting to downsize- it's not going too well! LOL

I dug out a big bunch of old fibre 12 ga. wads. Did a bunch of research on loads, and came up with one for the Federal paper target hull. so now I'm cranking out old time paper shot shells with fibre wads. I always try to pick up my hulls, but sometimes lose a few. And wads are always left behind. So these will be good to have for shooting on my hay field and anywhere else I don't want to leave plastic litter behind. I'd love to find a bismuth recipe for fibre wads.

I'll dig into my load data that II use for fibre wads and my federal papers, I am pretty sure II have some for Bismuth , but I mostly use it with my brass cases.

Felt energetic today, another 200 9mm.

Also, 4lbs of W231, 5000 primers and another 2000 cast bullets on the way. Should put a dent in the 6k prepped brass I have.

Got bored this afternoon: cranked out 700 9mm 115Gr Frontier TMJ 4.3gr Red Dot, Federal primers. Will finish off the box (1000count) tomrrow and move on to another calibre.
