6.5 PRC? Well, im sold.

But are we? A 7mm-08 with that new Win 6.5 StaBall powder was reported pushin 160's at 2900 fps.
28 nosler is fairly impressive
7mm saum
7mm wsm
284 win
The good ol 7mm rem mag never failed either
7mm-300 win is common enough

There are piles of options out there too, just not as standard as others.

Yes we are lacking options. The options you listed really drives that point home.

Also you will never get 2900fps 160grain out of a 7/08. I don’t care what powder, you would be way over pressure.

Sorry that was a typo on my part, I will edit that. Supposed to say 140's and with a 24" barrel. Will edit.

I truly believe the 6.5 bullets are taking over the world. 284, 270, 8mm etc will always have a use but Hornady is marketing the 6.5 line real well and its working. Seems like according to Hornady all we need is 22 cal, 243, 264, and 30 cal.

Makes more sense. There’s higher BC options for 7mm and better terminal performance running heavy grain bullets. I think a 7mm cartridge thats built around 180 grain projectiles would be fantastic for large North American game.
