Hey gents,

Narrowed my income tax cheque use down to a new STAG-10 in 308.

Need help from some experts though, nowhere seems to have the enhanced versions in stock other than Mstar (which I know is a store many members here have strong feelings about- though whatever happened was before my time)

Question is: Is it worth waiting and or looking for the LEV2 Enhanced version? Or should I just pull the trigger on the SL model?

Thanks

I'm not a stag expert but are the differences strictly furniture and the VG6 muzzle brake? If that's the case, decide if that's the furniture you want. If not, just get the cheaper one and put the difference towards the parts of your choosing

It looks like the difference is some magpul furniture and the compensator. Only you can say whether it is worth it to you or not.
The only opinion I have, is that unless you are supporting a local gun store, I'd recommend purchasing STAG stuff directly from ARMS EAST.

On the new advanced version it's a different barrel, furniture is different and the muzzle brake is different.
I'll work on the equipment exchange for older version the newer barrel is good though

The Canadian dollar is tanking against the US. I say buy whatever is in stock now, or run the risk of paying more on the next round of imports. The Stag 10's are made in the USA.

You should just grab one while you can.
^This :)

Good choice says I. You can tell that Stag Arms intends to knock it out of the park with current STAG-10 production. I know you are looking for the Enhanced, and I'll get to those, but I do see authorized dealers advertising in-stock LEV2 GI and SL GI Rifles right now. These are STAG-10 308 with M4 GI furniture: A2 Flashider, A2 grip, M4 trigger guard, 6-Pos Milspec M4 Buttstock. These are super fresh production rifles "hot off the truck" as one company mentions. If you see them in stock, and you like the configuration, you really WILL be happy with it. The fit, finish and operation of these rifles and recent production rifles is uniformly the finest we have ever seen.

To the Enhanced, the next 308 rifles arriving are the SL Enhanced. We expect these in about two weeks. The difference vs the GI model tip to tail are: VG6 Gamma .308 Muzzle Brake, Magpul AL Enhanced Trigger Guard, Ergo Suregrip 2, Magpul SL-S Buttstock. These are not in stock anywhere at the moment.

I would be surprised to find there are any of the recent LEV2 308 TAC/GOV Enhanced remaining on dealer shelves at the moment, but I welcome anyone to say so if otherwise, after they've bought it, likely.

Just buy the cheap one, shoot it, find out what you like and what you dont and change the parts out as you see fit. You will probably end up changing most of the A2/M4 stuff out but then at least you have your own choices rather than sticking with mods they chose for you on the enhanced.

Hijacking because I'm also seriously considering a Stag 10 and I'm confused about the editions:

Stag Arms doesn't have a "LEV2" listed anywhere under their Stag 10 line on the website, is that the name of some old-stock item that's been superseded or is it some "special for Canada" version?

Also, I'm seeing Arms East (and others) with the "SL" version and I've also see that on the Stag Arms website, the Stag 10 has an option of either the "Stag 10" or the "SL" handguard, what's the difference?

This thread has been helpful to me already, but if someone could answer my additional questions I'd really appreciate it.

Canadian models generally don't correspond with US models, including the LEV2 and SL. If you have questions on configuration or availability on anything Stag Arms in Canada, please email info@armseast.com or call us 844-579-0007. (Emailing or calling Stag Arms will get a response to say contact Arms East.)

The SL models are slim models, more light weight

I’d recommend getting one while you can. I love mine. But I had upgrade questions/concerns like you. I bought basic, and choose my own upgrades as budget saw fit
(1. Faxon 18.6” big gunner 4150qpq button rifled & 2.24 pounds (stock barrel = 3.3 lbs)
2. Radiant weapons Ambi Raptor
3. V7 weapon systems magnesium hyper light hand guard 16.5” (7.3oz) (stock guard was like 17oz?)
4. VG6 precision gamma (2.24 oz)

Pulled the trigger on one from Arms East today.

...Really can’t stress enough how fantastic the customer service was. Honestly, top notch.

Now the hard part, waiting for it lol.

Thanks again to Walter, Tre, and the team.

They really are good to deal with aren’t they! I’ve called them a few times over the years. Each time they answered the phone, took the time to listen to me, didn’t rush me off the phone, and took the time to answer my questions as best they could.

see, i had the exact opposite experience with them.
i had to chase them down via email and phone calls to try to get them to take my $2500, after doing that for a week or 2 and getting brushed off on the phone i called irunguns and they had mine in the mail the same day.
they had absolutely no qualms about taking my money and sending my the rifle i wanted.
to this day i am mystified as to why i had to work so hard to get a rifle from Arms East and in the end didn't.... oh well, i guess they are doing good enough they don't need my business.
honestly wouldn't recommend them to anyone, but that's just my experience with them.
